Vendicari wetlands in Sicily

I took this photo on the 1st May 2014 in the Vendicari wetlands, Sicily.

I took this photograph on the 1st of May 2014 while we were hanging out in the Vendicari wetlands not far from my country home in the south-east of Sicily. 

In Italy, the first of May is a public holiday celebrating "labour" - la festa del lavoro. Coinciding with the start of spring, the first day of May means that people flock to the countryside or the seaside to enjoy spending time in the open air, especially following the winter months. And, so did we: enjoy the seaside, the open air, the sunset, the hues of pink and red on the horizon, the blue water, the warm sandstone, and the girls at play.
