I was born in a small village but grew up in a big city. I have always wanted to escape the city. I devised great plans to leave. I have not had any success.
It has never occurred to me that the village is inside me. I recall star studded nights. I have it in me that knocking at someone's door is the way to visit. In Melbourne, where I grew up, my "village ways" made me feel out of step. As soon as I got the chance I left. I went to India, where I discovered a richness of life. I learnt friendship. I have not stopped "moving".

Now, I'm in the village, my ancestral village, and from this vantage point I am gathering what is meaningful.
