Where am I today?
Would you expect the flowers in a vase filled with water to brim yellow?
Words, instead, are white on Black and Black on white. We've become accustomed to see, and sometimes read, quotes by people considered quotable. On the NGV Kithen walls, quotes by Ai Wei Wei and Andy Warhol, currently exhibiting, are telling theirs, white on black, black on white.
As I sit sipping Oolong tea, the questions form, but actually I'm here to find water, light and space. Light is inspiring, water is refreshing and space is healing. That's according to me.
A beautiful bunch of yellow flowers sit on the counter of the Kitchen above the display of sweets, ignoring the black walls and the pasted quotes black or white. Mirrorred pillars feel watery, but not as much as the water that makes my tea pleasant to drink, as I gaze across the busy-sounding Kitchen.
