Cities into Sustainability: The Space of Sustainable Living in the City - Journal article published with Common Ground Scholar in 2014
Cities into Sustainability: The Space of Sustainable Living in the City Author: Silvana Tuccio
As ephemeral as talk about “space” might sound, this article is an attempt to define a trajectory that links memory, time and space with urbanity. It’s an invitation to appreciate what space might mean in the city we’d like to see emerge as livable and ecologically conscious, and hence sustainable. It suggests that the way people spin the web that is resilience from a story of belonging is grounded in the ability to orient the self in “space.” From this premise, that is the space of sustainable living in the city, further research may arise that engages cross-disciplinary perspectives.
