ITALIAN born
Over the years I've picked up little bits of Italian magic, tasted delicious morsels of food, experienced microcosms of life in all its messiness, learnt language traits and accents. I've heard the voices of the old and the very young, saw intricate ways of doing; through it all I've been witness to the rite of sharing something as simple as an espresso, upholding the fabric of human bonding.
Italian born, I treasure the recollections of a village in Sicily. It's so far back in time, so unrelated to my current reality, yet it's the emotional backbone of the Italy I live today. I must reckon with it. It provides texture to my thoughts.
